What using this code actually looked like
This is not a coupon site with an Amber page bolted on. I have been an Amber customer since 11 January 2026, running a 10.66kW solar array and a 48kWh battery outside Sydney, and the code above is my own. That is the only reason the checked date means anything — I am verifying a code on an account I actually hold, not copying one from another list.
CREDIT TIMING
It starts on your first full bill
Not at sign-up, and not on the short bill that covers the transfer itself. The six-to-ten-week wait described in the FAQ below is real, and most of it is the distributor and the meter rather than Amber.
WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE
A $10 credit, twelve times
It lands as a credit against the bill total, not as a discount on your rates. Leave in month five and you have received $50. There is no clawback of what you have already been given, but there is no lump sum either.
STILL IN USE
10–15 sign-ups a month
Roughly that many people join Amber on this code each month. It is also how I know within days when Amber rotates it — the sign-ups stop, and the code here gets replaced rather than quietly left up.
The one check worth doing, with any code. Do not complete sign-up until you can see the discount applied on screen. A rotated Amber code does not throw an error — the field accepts it and nothing happens. That silent failure is the most common way people lose the $120, and it is the reason every code on this site carries a date rather than a promise.
Being straight about what the credit is worth: $10 a month against Amber's $25 monthly subscription covers most of the fee for your first year and nothing after it. It is a discount on Amber's fee, not on your electricity. Why your Amber promo code might not work
A referral code that has been rotated does not produce an error. The field accepts it, the discount simply never appears, and most people only notice weeks later when the credit is missing from their first bill. These are the five reasons a code fails, in the order they actually happen:
- The code has been rotated. Amber reissues codes periodically and announces nothing. Any code published without a date is a guess. The code above carries the date it was last entered on a live sign-up form.
- You are not a new customer. Referral codes apply to new accounts only, and Amber checks. An existing customer cannot apply one to their own account.
- You are outside the service area. Amber operates in NSW, VIC, SA, the ACT and south-east Queensland. In WA, Tasmania or the NT no code will work, however recent it is. Availability is address-specific even inside those regions.
- Another offer is already applied. Amber offers do not stack. If a partner promotion such as CommBank Yello is attached to your sign-up, the referral code will not also apply — see Amber's own note on combining promos.
- You entered it after completing sign-up. There is one promo code field and it appears during the application. You cannot add a code to a finished account.
The check that prevents all five: do not submit until the discount is visible on screen. If it is not showing, the code is dead — reload this page for the current one rather than completing the switch and hoping.

Only for the first year, and only by $10 a month. That offsets most of Amber's $25 monthly subscription while it lasts. Whether Amber is genuinely cheaper than your current retailer depends on whether you can shift usage into low-price periods — not on the credit, which is a one-off worth less than two months of most households' bills.
What happens after the 12 months of credit end?
The $10 monthly credit stops and the $25 monthly subscription continues. From month thirteen you are paying full price for wholesale exposure, so it is worth deciding whether the underlying plan suits you before switching rather than treating the credit as the reason to join.
When does the referral credit actually appear on my bill?
On your first full bill after the switch completes, not at sign-up. For energy that is typically six to ten weeks from when you apply, because the switch has to be processed by your distributor and a meter upgrade may be required first.
Can I use a referral code if I am already an Amber customer?
